CVM and Mason Community Center Partnership

Partnering with the Mason Community Center

The Christian Village at Mason has a prime location in the heart of the City of Mason. One of the many benefits of the location is that the Mason Community Center (MCC) is less than two miles away.

The MCC is an expansive, state-of-the art facility offering topnotch fitness and wellness activities and amenities. Their gym has a wide array of exercise equipment; upright and recumbent bikes, Precor treadmills, lelipticals, various cardio equipment, free weights, barbells, and numerous pieces of strength equipment.

In addition to the gym, there is a 4-lane indoor walking track, a leisure pool, whirlpool, competition pool, and warm water therapy pool. The MCC offers group exercise classes daily which are taught by nationally certified instructors in several group exercise studios. Some of the classes taught are especially for older adults such as Forever Fit and SilverSneakers classes.

There are also amenities onsite like a café, postal unit and gift shop. Finally, there is a thriving senior center that offers with a robust calendar of activities as well as two spacious gathering rooms, tables for card games, a lounge area with fireplace, a library with computers with Internet access and kitchen.

With all this so close, some CVM residents have paid for a membership to the MCC. CVM residents have a complimentary membership to our Renewal Fitness Center. But some residents desire access to amenities not offered at CVM such as access to a pool and indoor walking track.

One of our corporate strategic initiatives is to emphasize wellness and fitness in our communities. Having the Renewal Fitness Center on CVM’s campus has helped us work toward achieving this goal but we felt like our residents deserve even more. We have long desired to partner with the MCC to complement our onsite wellness and fitness offerings. We felt that a partnership with the MCC would truly be a win-win.

Last year, management met with MCC officials and expressed our desire to create a partnership. Both parties were excited about this idea and felt that it would be a win-win so a formal partnership was created. The result of that partnership was that as of May 1, 2018 all new and existing Garden Home residents receive a complimentary Basic Membership to Mason Community Center!

Membership

A Basic Membership allows Garden Home residents to access all that the MCC has to offer with only a nominal $2 fee for senior group fitness classes. The MCC made it easy for Garden Home residents to obtain their complimentary membership by going to CVM for onsite signups.

Currently, nearly a third of the residents residing in a Garden Home have signed up for their Basic membership. Not only are our residents excited about this partnership which is continuing in 2019, but it is also appealing to prospective residents who often times desire a vast array of fitness and wellness offerings.

We are very proud of this new partnership and thankful for the MCC. We know how it enhances the lives of our CVM residents.
