President and CEO Larry Monroe Announces Retirement

July 24, 2024

Dear friends of Christian Village Communities,

Larry D. Monroe, President & Chief Executive Officer of Christian Village Communities (CVC) and affiliates, has announced his retirement as of December 27, 2024. Larry has given us 12 years of outstanding leadership, compassion, stewardship, and accomplishment. On behalf of the CBA Board of Directors and his executive management team, we thank Larry for his inspiration, determination, and leadership.

Since Larry stepped into the role in 2012 and under his leadership, we have reaffirmed our commitment to our mission, established financial sustainability, sharpened our strategies for growth and innovation, and developed a world-class leadership team for the future.

Under Larry’s leadership over the last twelve years, CVC has consistently achieved improved financial outcomes, with the most recent fiscal year being the best in our over 60-year history. Larry has guided our organization into investing nearly $50 million dollars for capital investments and updates at the Christian Village at Mason (CVM) and the Christian Village at Mt. Healthy (CVMH). Among these many capital investments were the rehab centers constructed at both facilities. These facilities were designed to better serve patients following a hospital stay for extended illness or surgery. At CVMH, the third floor of the north building was transformed into the Guardian Center for Memory Support; a beautifully modern, secured Assisted Living center for residents in cognitive decline. The fifth floor of the CVHM south building was revitalized into the Serenity Center; a remodeled nursing floor consisting of all private occupancy rooms.

In 2021 The Stone Worship Center and Auditorium opened at CVM. The 300-seat Stone Center provided a larger Sunday worship space, as well as a conference and performing arts center. Earlier this year we dedicated a new, $1.9M outdoor pavilion at CVM. In 2024 CVM will begin construction on Sunrise Vista, a 10-acre, $17 million independent living expansion at CVM. Sunrise Vista will include twenty-four spacious single family and duplex homes, as well as a 4,000 sq. ft. clubhouse for the enjoyment of all the residents at CVM.

In 2023 CVC launched Christian Village Hospice (CVH). CVH completes the care continuum within CVC’s Life Plan Communities and the response from residents, patients and their families has exceeded our expectations. CVH exclusively serves the residents and patients living in CVC communities with end-of-life care.

The CBA Board is pleased with the direction and momentum Larry has provided. We want to keep moving forward and, after prayerful reflection, are pleased to announce that current CVC CFO, Vickie Brashear, will succeed Larry as our next President & CEO. The search for our next Chief Financial Officer position will commence immediately.

Please join me in wishing Larry well in his retirement and thanking him for his service to Christian Village Communities, expanding the impact of our mission and serving the Lord faithfully.

Sincerely, yours in Christ!

Harry Snyder, Chair of the Board of Directors, Christian Village Communities
