We often think improving our health requires big changes—a new workout routine, a strict diet, or a complete lifestyle makeover. But what if the small things we do everyday matter more than we realize?
Small Choices, Big Changes
Wellness doesn’t have to be all-or-nothing. Small choices add up!
- Take an extra lap around the building.
- Stand up and move instead of sitting a few more minutes.
- Do five minutes of movement when you don’t have energy for a full workout.
- Drink a glass of water.
- Add a little protein to your meal.
- Step outside for some fresh air.
- Call a friend instead of waiting for them to call.
- Show up for class—even when you don’t feel especially motivated.
Five minutes of movement is still movement. One lap is still a walk. One healthy choice is still a healthy choice.

Why Small Things Matter
We aren’t moving just to exercise. We’re moving so we can continue doing the things we love—walking confidently, traveling, dancing, gardening, playing with grandchildren, and enjoying life.
You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to keep making small choices that move you toward the life you want to live.
So ask yourself: “What’s one small thing I can do today that my future self will thank me for?”
“Do not despise these small beginnings.” — Zechariah 4:10
