We spend a lot of time talking about what we should do for our health: exercise, eat well, sleep, drink water, and stay connected.

But there is one wellness prescription that doesn’t require a copay: Laughter!

A good laugh isn’t just fun—it may benefit both our bodies and our minds

Laughter Helps Relieve Stress

Laughter can help release tension and promote relaxation. Sometimes you don’t need to solve the problem—you just need to laugh about it for a minute.

Laughter Can Lift Your Mood

Laughter and positive emotions can help us feel happier and more relaxed. Spending time with people who make you laugh can be a wonderful mood booster.

Laughter Brings Us Together

Have you noticed that laughter is contagious? One person starts laughing, and suddenly everyone else wants to know what they missed!

Shared laughter creates connection—and sometimes the best medicine isn’t something you take, but someone you spend time with.

Your Daily Prescription

Try adding more laughter to your day:

  • Spend time with people who make you smile.
  • Share a funny story or favorite joke.
  • Watch an old comedy.
  • Laugh at yourself.
  • Participate in activities that bring you joy.
  • Look for the funny moments in everyday life.

The Bible says:
“A cheerful heart is good medicine.” — Proverbs 17:22
