Try One of These Three Great Local Dining Spots

restaurants to try in mason ohio

Mason, OH is one of country’s most livable cities as Money Magazine voted it the 7th best place to live in the U.S. in 2013 and in 2008 and 2011 CNN named Mason one of the top 100 U.S. places to live in.

Part of what makes Mason great is all the amazing eateries available, a number of which are locally owned. At the heart of Mason is Mason Christian Village so after a short drive you can sit down and enjoy a unique, delicious meal.

What’s so great about Mason’s locally-owned restaurants? A lot of things actually: They’re small, the owner is always around, the staff really cares and the food is always delicious. Like any bustling, southwestern community with a large urban area, Mason residents can always find refuge in the bright and friendly cafés.

Venture out and try one of these top-rated hot spots:

Troy’s Café – 322 Reading Rd.

An eclectic café Troy’s Café offers a New York-style dining experience for both dine-in and take-out. With a menu ranging from the Salmon Raspberry Salad to the popular Troy’s Burger, there’s something for everyone.

The menu also offers a large selection of local beers, fresh pastries, and you can even order café chips to go – just remember to order extra Troy’s sauce as well. Be sure to stop in Mondays between 5 and 8 p.m. because Troy’s is now hosting wine tastings!

Wildflower Café – 207 E. Main St.

Wildflower Café is another locally-owned Mason favorite. Featuring a regularly-changing menu that is based on seasonal food, local eating and peak freshness, Wildflower serves only what they refer to as slow food. Food that was raised the way it was meant to be, and food that’s consumed in the area and season in which it was harvested.

They proudly locally source many of their ingredients, and actually grow the rest of what they serve. The restaurant itself is a renovated house, and the cozy dining area is a former living room.

Lucky Dog Grille – 729 Reading Rd.

If you’re a dog-lover, Lucky Dog could be your new favorite spot to take your family. A dog-friendly café in its outdoor eating area, Lucky Dog features wings that were voted “Best of the North” by Cincy Magazine in 2015. Their large menu also offers pizzas, pastas, burgers and salads. With a large selection of craft beers and cocktails for the adults and arcade games for the kids, the Lucky Dog offers a family-friendly atmosphere that can’t be beat.
